Expression of Interest

Wiltshire Creative have commissioned Dorset based rapper Isaiah Dreads to lead a project for young men in Salisbury in 2024. City Beats will enable a small group of 18 – 25 year old men to learn to write and perform rap, and aims to create a safe space for young men improving participants’ confidence and wellbeing.

Between February and May 2024 Isaiah will lead free monthly workshops at Salisbury Arts Centre teaching how to write, perform and record rap. Isaiah has previously led successful workshops with residents from the Friary and the project will be supported by one of these residents and Wiltshire Creative staff who are Mental Health First Aid trained. The hope is the group will work together to perform at Salisbury Festival in May, or record work to be shared if this is more appropriate.
