Institute Overview

Join teachers from across the country and engage with ideologically diverse constitutional scholars for a virtual weeklong institute with the National Constitution Center on Building the U.S. Constitution, from Sunday, July 11–Friday, July 16, 2021.

During the Virtual Institute educators work with content experts to deepen their knowledge of the history and modern understandings of the creation of the Constitution, the structural Constitution, and the amendment process. With master teachers and the education team from the National Constitution Center, participants discover and develop innovative, nonpartisan ways to make the content relevant to their students.

The Virtual Institute capitalizes on the Center’s wealth of historical, constitutional, and cultural resources to demonstrate the ways the creation of the structural constitution has defined and continues to define America’s constitutional identity. Educators will have opportunities to collaborate with peers and the Center's master teachers in classroom application sessions throughout the week.

There is no fee to attend the Institute; but, a successful application is required.

Applications are being accepted through Friday, January 22, 2021. All applicants will be notified by Friday, February 26, 2021 regarding acceptance to the Institute.

Average time to complete this application is 15 minutes.
