Habitat for Humanity International’s Government Relations and Advocacy Office wants to recognize Youth United/Campus Chapters whose advocacy accomplishments have had the greatest impact on helping families access affordable housing through the annual BuildLouder Youth Advocacy award.

Online Submissions will be accepted until May 31, 2012 and Youth United and/or Campus Chapter groups must be in good standing.

Goal 3, Objective 3.2, Strategic Initiative 2B: Elevate
Public Awareness and Advocate for improved policies. Conduct broad-based public education campaigns in concert with Habitat partners at all levels, to raise awareness for affordable housing, resulting in actions to transform communities, states, nations and the world. Facilitate, participate in, and support alliances across all sectors of society that advocate for changes in policies and practices that enhance housing conditions.

* 3. Essay:
Describe in 500 words or less how your affiliated group coordinates organizational advocacy initiatives in order to develop policy change initiatives (at the local, state and/or national levels), recruits advocates to support Habitat’s vison to eliminate housing poverty, and participates in advocacy campaign activities.

Thank you for your contribution the Habitat for Humanity's mission and for submitting your essay for the Buildlouder Youth Advocacy Award. The award will be presented at the Youth Leadership Conference and Youth United and/or Campus Chapter group will be recognized for their achievements in local, state and/or national advocacy work.
