BE “ARTIST OF THE MONTH” AT BRUSHWOOD CENTER!
Artist Application
Brushwood Center is looking for artists to be selected as "Artist of the Month" to display, demonstrate and teach their work for one month at Brushwood Center. Ideal candidates will make creative use of items in BASE - the Brushwood Art Supply Exchange - in their demo and class.
Benefits:
- Artist will be given one wall in the Brushwood Center gallery (roughly 80” wide) plus some small shelf space to display/sell their work for the duration of their feature. Brushwood will retail 15% of sales.
- Artist's work will be featured on Brushwood Center’s e-newsletter and social media.
- $750 Stipend
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate your work at an “Open Art Workshop” day
- Teach one “Create & Sip” class
Selection Criteria:
- Artists must apply with samples of their work, an artist’s statement, bio and proposal for a class project.
- Preference will be given to artists whose work has ties to Brushwood Center’s mission and explores themes of health, nature and the environment, and to artists whose projects explore a creative of BASE (Brushwood Art Supply Exchange) materials. *Items in BASE vary from day to day, and typically include a random selection of every type of art supply and tool. The best types of projects for these classes are ones where each participant's project can be made using slightly different materials.
