Public Input Sought on Trails and Amenities

In June 2017 the City began the process that will determine what’s next for Braemar Park, a 500-acre space already home to multiple recreational venues including Braemar Arena and Braemar Golf Course. The goal is develop a Master Plan for the park by the end of 2017.

While most of the land already is in use, narrow areas around Braemar Golf Course are available for possible trails or other uses year round. The open park land includes wetlands zones and oak forest.

“We are looking at how best to utilize the land around the golf course,” Parks & Recreation Director Ann Kattreh said. “We also want to look at how best to connect trails to surrounding neighborhood.”

Survey input will be incorporated into deciding what amenities and improvements should be made to the park. Note that while the survey is anonymous, all responses are a matter of public record.
