Board Member of the Year 2026 |
This award is presented annually to an outstanding CAA board member who has made significant contributions to the wellbeing and economic mobility of low-income communities through their work on the board. Nominations may be submitted by the Executive Director or agency board members. The nominee must:
- Have served as a board member in good standing for at least two years.
- Exhibit exemplary commitment to the agency’s mission and strategic plan and to improving circumstances for low-income communities.
Basis of Award
Recipients are selected based on the following:

- Leadership and Governance: Active and impactful participation in board initiatives, committees, planning/development, and decision-making.
- Advocacy and Fundraising: Efforts to represent the needs of low-income communities to policymakers and other community stakeholders to secure necessary resources and support for the agency.
- Community Engagement: Meaningful involvement in community and agency activities to demonstrate support for the agency and Community Action and to seek input/participation from all levels of the community.
