On June 9, 2023, the Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA) voted to approve a proposed set of Bylaws that, among other things, added 12 At-Large Seats to the Board of Governors. The purpose of these At-Large Seats is to provide more pathways to leadership for MSBA members. The At-Large Seats are to be selected by a Nominating Committee that is charged with ensuring that the makeup of the Board of Governors reflects the scope and breadth of the legal profession and aligns with MSBA’s commitment to diversity as articulated in Article I of the MSBA Bylaws.
The Nominating Committee seeks nominations from members interested in serving on the Board of Governors beginning in June 2026. For this year, there will be six (6) At-Large Governors appointed to 2-year terms (June 2026 - June 2028). In addition, there is one (1) vacant at-large position available for an abbreviated terms of June 2026-June 2027.
Nominations will be accepted through 5:00pm on February 20, 2026, for consideration by the nominating committee. Please note: Late applications may not be considered.
