Please register for your Department's team to play Blind, Knockout Volleyball in MMGs 2026. Teams must register in advance and can NOT register on-site.



Blind, Knockout Volleyball will be played on an Employee's lunch break between 11 am and 12:45pm at Friendship Park on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, March 17th, 18th, and 19th, with the top 2 teams moving on for Gold/Silver medal round during National Benefits Day Extravaganza, Tuesday March 31st. (days/times/location subsequent to change due to weather or circumstances)

Although participants in the March Madness Games, are playing on their lunch hour each will have an additional 30 minutes of administrative leave to get cleaned up, grab a bite to eat and prepare to return to work. The administrative time must be coordinated with the participants’ supervisor(s). This administrative leave has been approved by Bryan Meyers.

Teams of more than 10 players are recommended but teams can have as many players as possible. There will be uneven numbers of players on each team for each game. Teams with more players will have an advantage.

Round House Café will be offering a BBQ on Thursdays, during March Madness with free drinks and discounts for players.

Equipment: Volleyball net, volleyball, boundary lines and large sheet(s)

Location: Friendship Park in the grass

Set-up:

Set up a volleyball court and hang a very large sheet or sheets from the net to obstruct the view of the teams from one another.

Set up a large boundary perimeter.



Description:

· Teams organize on each side of the net – (options: no boundaries/boundaries).

o Flip a coin to choose sides and switch sides to negate weather.

o Teams spread out inside the playing boundaries/area

· Teams serve clearing the net and landing in-bounds

o If unsuccessful serve, the server is eliminated and side-out

o If ball is returned, then continue to play.

· Teams have unlimited number of hits to return the ball.

· If the ball lands in-bounds, the closest person on that team to the ball landing is eliminated.

· If the team is unsuccessful returning the ball, the last player to hit the ball is eliminated.

o The other teams serves again or side out depending on play

· Keep playing until one team is eliminated (no scoring).

· Switch sides – best of 3 games wins the match.

Participants must sign a waiver which will also provide your loyalty cup. Loyalty cup is good for discounts on Thursday Barbeques and free drinks on the Thursday Barbeques during MMGs.

Please be prepared to play each day as winners will move on until teams qualify for the Medal Matches on National Benefits Day, Tuesday, March 31st 2026. Your Department could win Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. The department(s) winning the most medals wins the overall medal count and takes home the travelling trophy to defend next year.
