Thank you for your interest in hosting a Bike Week event!

The theme for Bike Week 2019 is “Going Further, Together”. It’s about bringing the people, organizations, businesses, and institutions of Halifax together to celebrate cycling as a way to go places as well as its potential to create healthier, safer, more prosperous communities in Halifax.

Our goals for this year include:
  • Highlighting the voices of people who cycle in Halifax
  • Expanding the reach and impact of Bike Week by connecting with and engaging people, organizations, businesses, and institutions from the broader community
  • Attracting new people to cycling and the cycling community in Halifax by encouraging them to adopt cycling for transportation
  • Looking for opportunities to align Bike Week with other events and initiatives in the community and to align events within Bike Week

Event and grant applications will be considered based on the following criteria:
  • Alignment with the theme of Bike Week 2019 and the overall spirit of Bike Week in Halifax
  • Ability of organization to coordinate event of the proposed scale
  • Anticipated reach of the event
  • Relative coverage of the municipality between all proposed events
