About the Survey

As a valued Member of The Salem County Chamber of Commerce, Inc., our Board and event planning committee are reaching out to request your feedback on The Best of Salem County Contest and Celebration Event.

We've received feedback over the years and have made modifications to try to make the contest a successful marketing tool to showcase our Members to the community and the Celebration event one that provides an opportunity for camaraderie and fun.

June 13, we held a focus group with several Chamber Members who offered their feedback to reconstruct the event and we wanted to ask your input.  Thank you for taking a few moments to complete the survey, we are not asking for your contact information hoping that will enable folks to feel free to share their honest opinions.   We consider all feedback constructive in helping us to better serve you.

* 4. Would you continue Membership in our Chamber if we no longer offered the Best of Salem County contest?

* 5. There are a few other organizations running similar contests who require a nominal entry fee to be placed on the ballot.  This would enable The Chamber to include non-members in the contest.  Do you think offering an entry fee to all businesses is a workable solution?

* 6. If you chose yes, what fee structure would you suggest for Chamber Members and non members to be listed on the ballot?

* 7. One of the focus group members suggested streamlining the categories to 10 - 15, then announcing the winners as a surprise at the celebration event.  This contest would be more of a Community Awards recognition, offering categories like Best Community Service, Best New Business, Best Family Owned Business, Best Minority Owned Business.  What do you think of this idea?

Another suggestion made for the Celebration Event is to host a dinner or heavy appetizer networking style event, but not announce each winner.  Winners would be included in a slide show presentation, but not all called forward.  Winners could pick up their certificates and signs as they exit the venue.   Do you like this idea?
