Barre Sharps Disposal Survey

Sharps are medical devices with sharp points or edges that can puncture or cut a person’s skin. They include needles, syringes, lancets, auto injectors, infusion sets and connection sets.

In summer 2017, the Greater Barre Safe Sharps Alliance conducted a survey to learn what people know about safe sharps disposal and their thoughts about a proposed pilot project to install disposal units in public spaces.  Since April 2018, 17 sharps disposal units (including small wall units and large kiosks) have been installed in and around the city as part of a pilot project.  To help enhance the project, we would appreciate your responses based on what you know and believe today about sharps disposal.
