Read the program description below along with the projected salary range and let us know whether or not you would consider applying to this program.New Program Description: The profession of diagnostic medical sonography includes general sonography (defined as abdomen, obstetric, gynecologic, superficial parts and other appropriate areas), cardiac sonography, vascular technology and various other sub-specialties. This proposed program prepares students to utilize medical ultrasound techniques to gather sonographic data used to diagnose a variety of conditions and diseases. Types of Jobs: Work as a sonographer conducting ultrasounds on pregnant women. Work as a sonographer running heart scans to detect blockages and other diseases, etc...Average Salary of a Sonographers: The median annual wage for diagnostic medical sonographers and cardiovascular technologists and technicians, including vascular technologists was $63,630 in May 2015.
