2020 Ballot for Election for SEGA ONS Treasurer AND Other Positions for Chapter Board Survey

SEGA CHAPTER ONS ELECTION FOR 2020

SEGA ONS is holding Annual election after calling for Nominations at last two Membership meetings to nominate a Member for Treasurer and other positions of the Board.

ONS National Requirements:

“Chapter boards will have at least five (5) elected members consisting of a president, treasurer, and three additional roles based on the needs of the Chapter. Any additional roles beyond those five may be elected or appointed at the discretion of the Chapter. Board members cannot serve more than six (6) consecutive years on the Board. The president and treasurer terms are limited to two (2) years each. The president and treasurer could serve the remainder of their six-year term in other board positions. Board members serving in roles other than the president or treasurer may serve all six consecutive years in the same role if re-elected or re-appointed by membership during each voting period.”

Composition of SEGA ONS Board of Directors:

The SEGA ONS Board of Directors shall be composed of at least five (5) members Elected Officers . Officers shall be the President, President-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer and two (2) Directors At large. Additional members of the Chapter that hold the Chairpersons of the Standing Committees shall be considered additional members of the Board. The Immediate Past President shall serve in an advisory capacity to the Board of Directors for a period of one (1) year following expiration of the term as President. In this advisory capacity, the Immediate past President may not vote or make motions and does not count in the quorum.

Please select a candidate for Treasurer position and other as indicated below. No write-ins please and be sure to save or submit your selections at the end of the ballot. Please have your selections completed by November 9th, 2020.

1.Please select the candidate of your choice to be Treasurer for the years 2021 & 2022.
The treasurer has the following responsibilities and duties to uphold the integrity and trust of finances for SEGA ONS/ONS national: develop an annual budget, plan for current goals and objectives as approved by the board of directors. Competently, supervise the financial transactions of the Chapter. Maintain all chapter financial records associated with the office of treasurer in compliance with the policies and procedures established by the chapter board of directors and ONS National. Maintain systematic and accurate records of all chapter revenues and expenditures and provide frequent reports to the Chapter Board and membership. This is not full list of duties, refer to the Treasurer's Handbook.

Doranne Hipp RN, OCN -Doranne has worked in the LCRP Infusion suite for many years providing excellent comprehensive
oncology care to patients of the region that St. Joseph's/Candler serve. Prior to that, she was a travel nurse and provide care in a Bone Marrow Transplant service line. She has help multiple roles in the SEGA ONS Chapter (soon to be known as ONS) and has been an active member of the Chapter for many years.

2.Please select the candidate for Membership Chairperson:
This position focus on recruiting, retaining and promotes membership development in ONS National and the Chapter. Maintains accurate records of attendance and membership roster.

Peggy Garcia-Peggy is a Diagnostic Nurse Navigator at Telfair Pavilion of St. Joseph's/Candler. She is originally from New York and has vast experience in Surgical Services, Clinical Trials and made the move to Oncology services line within the past 3 years. She will be the conduit to engage and welcome members to our Chapter.

3.Please select the candidates for the Director At Large Positions. Please select a total of 3. Two will represent GA and one will represent SC.
Directors-at-large represent the general chapter membership
on the board of directors. They perform responsibilities designated
by the chapter board of directors. The Directors-at-Large are elected and shall serve in an advisory capacity on the chapter board. Elected Directors- at-large represent the general chapter membership on the board of directors. They perform responsibilities designated by the chapter.

Pam Anderson-GA representative-Originally from Ohio, she is a retired Oncology Nurse with vast experience in oncology and is a published author on Breast Oncology material. Pam is support and a very active Member for SEGA ONS. She is the manager of the SEGA ONS Facebook page.

Franki Owen-GA representative- Franki has been out most outgoing and active Hospice Nurse that SEGA ONS has had the privilege to have as member. She has been very active with the CEU Day and other projects. She represents and shares her knowledge and ONS experience with colleagues and her coworkers.

Judy Horton-SC representative- is an nurse in the South Carolina service line. She is excited to represent our colleagues in the Low Country.
