Thank you for your interest in the PLACED Academy Alumni.

PLACED Academy Alumni enables us to offer ongoing support to our Academy graduates as they embark on the next stage of their journey. Graduates can benefit from a range of additional support.

The Alumni offers support to those young people who graduate from the PLACED Studio Academy Programme having attended 80% of activity, along with those who complete an equivalent number of days on our Partnership Programmes.

We work closely with our Partners and Sponsors to offer support including work experience placements, mentoring, and additional workshops supporting graduates as they prepare for applying for university/apprenticeships, whilst they are in university/apprenticeships, or whilst they are in the world of work.

Once you've completed the form, we will verify you qualify, we will add you to our new mailing list and WhatsApp broadcast list where you will be a full PLACED Academy Alumni member!

Workshop leads from PLACED are first aid trained. When activities are not run by PLACED, we will ensure the environments are safe for you.

In the event of emergency, the PLACED team will administer First Aid as legally required. This will also be the case when the opportunity is not being delivered by PLACED, leads will have to perform First Aid when required.

We will take photographs/videos during the sessions. We may share these on social media, our website and other promotion associated with the programme and will also share with our partners and sponsors, for use in communicating their support of the Academy. Your full name will not be used in conjunction with any photograph. If we deliver sessions online, we may record workshops. This is solely for use by the group so people can catch up on a session they missed or refer back to it. Recordings will not be shared more widely and will be deleted at the end of the programme. We may also have a photographer/videographer join us at some points of the programme.

External sponsors and partners may also wish to take photos/video and this consent will be transferred in those circumstances.

As some of our activities are off-site and with external partners, including travelling to locations alone, there may be times we are not with young people. During this time we are not responsible for their safety. The Alumni includes a wide range of opportunities. Due to the nature and breadth of opportunities we hope to share, we will not always be with the Alumni at events and experiences, and as such we are not responsible for any events that happen outside of PLACED unless otherwise stated. This may include:

Events developed and led directly by PLACED, such as workshops: At these events, PLACED will be responsible for attendees’ safety whilst at the event. We will undertake a risk assessment and will be present. We will not be responsible for attendees’ safety travelling to and from the event.

Events and opportunities delivered by our external supporters: This could include but is not limited to site visits, studio tours, work placements and mentoring. In most instances, there will be no PLACED representative present, unless specifically stated. We will ensure that we provide important information about those attending to the person(s) hosting the event/experience and support our partners by providing risk assessment templates, application templates and safeguarding information to ensure they can minimise risk. Whilst at these opportunities, it is the responsibility of the supporter / partner to ensure the safety of the participant. We would stress that many of our partners and supporters have significant experience of hosting work experience placements and other opportunities and therefore have well established systems in place.

Events which are not connected to PLACED in any way: This may include but are not limited to events such as industry talks and activities, which we think may be of interest to the network. PLACED will not be involved in the organisation of these events and will not provide templates or attendee information in advance. As such, when our Alumni are at external events, we are not responsible for their safety.
