The Burnsville Fire Department is hosting a free panel discussion on the impacts of the nation-wide opioid crisis here in Burnsville.

The misuse of and addiction to opioids – which include prescription pain pills, heroin and synthetic drugs such as fentanyl – has become a serious national crisis, and Burnsville is not immune.

This free panel discussion will include testimony from experts, information on how police and emergency personnel respond, treatment options and resources for combatting the crisis locally.

Speakers will include Burnsville Fire’s Medical Director, drug and alcohol counselors, addiction psychologists and Burnsville emergency responders. The goal of this discussion is to help define the problem for the community, understand its impacts and provide resources to combat it.
