Why you feel you would be a good candidate for the WCMONS board?
I have a wide variety of experience. I have an understanding of the clinical and systemic challenge patients and nurse's face. I have been and still am part of many committees at the Cancer Center.
Have you had any prior involvement with WCMONS? I enjoy attending the many events they put on.
What leadership qualities will you contribute to the WCMONS? I would attempt to get other coworkers to join WCMN ONS events. I am organized, have good communication skills, and am committed to the organizations I am involved with.
What would you like to gain from your term on the WCMONS board?
Being more active in ONS would help me learn from other board members who work in other areas.

Angie Haan

Employment history
My career in oncology began at St. Cloud Hospital on the medical oncology unit, where I started as a Certified Nursing Assistant. I later transitioned into nursing roles on the same unit, serving as a floor nurse, charge nurse, and core charge nurse. These roles gave me a strong foundation in direct patient care, interdisciplinary teamwork, clinical leadership, and the day-to-day needs of oncology patients, families, and nursing staff.
Oncology Experience:
My oncology experience includes both inpatient and outpatient settings, as well as education within the pharmaceutical industry. After my time on the medical oncology unit, I served as the breast cancer care coordinator at Coborn Cancer Center, where I supported patients throughout the cancer care continuum and helped coordinate care, education, and resources. Most recently, I have worked as an oncology nurse educator at a pharmaceutical company, where I continue to focus on oncology education, patient-centered care, and supporting healthcare professionals in understanding oncology treatments and related nursing considerations.
Education/certifications
I hold a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus in leadership and management. I am also certified as an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) and a Certified Breast Care Nurse (CBCN).
Why you feel you would be a good candidate for the WCMONS board?
I believe I would be a strong candidate for the WCMONS board because I bring a broad oncology nursing background that spans bedside care, charge nurse leadership, care coordination, breast oncology, and oncology education. My experience has allowed me to understand oncology nursing from multiple perspectives, including the needs of patients and families, the challenges faced by clinical nurses, and the importance of education in promoting safe and effective care. I am passionate about supporting oncology nurses, encouraging professional growth, and helping strengthen the oncology nursing community.
Have you had any prior involvement with WCMONS?
At this time, I would welcome the opportunity to become more actively involved with WCMONS and contribute to its mission.
What leadership qualities will you contribute to the WCMONS?
The leadership qualities I would contribute to WCMONS include collaboration, dependability, strong communication, adaptability, and a commitment to lifelong learning. Through my previous roles, I have learned the importance of listening to others, building relationships, mentoring peers, and helping teams work toward shared goals. I strive to lead with professionalism, compassion, a focus on service and I would bring those qualities to my work on the board.
What would you like to gain from your term on the WCMONS board?
I would like to gain a deeper understanding of how the organization supports oncology nurses and advances oncology nurse practice at a local level, grow as a leader, build stronger connections, and contribute to initiatives.

Elizabeth (Liz) Olson

Employment History:
I have been a nurse on the medical oncology unit at the St. Cloud Hospital for four years and became chemotherapy certified two years ago. I graduated with my nursing degree at the College of St. Benedict and was fortunate to gain experience on the unit prior to graduation as a nursing intern as well. Prior to that I worked as a server in restaurants and was a part of the Campus Ministry team.

Education/Certifications:
I hold a bachelor's degree in nursing, have my chemotherapy and biotherapy certifications, and my Oncology Nurse certification (OCN)
Why I am a Good Candidate for the WCMONS Board:
My role in campus ministry including recording meeting minutes, creating work schedules for campus ministry staff, and facilitating events on campus. I believe that my past experiences with leadership in campus ministry as well as time caring for oncology patients at the St. Cloud Hospital would make me a good candidate for the WCMONS board. I have enjoyed attending WCMONS events since I was a nursing student and would love to take a more active role.
Leadership Qualities:
I believe that my adaptability, compassion, respect for others, and desire to constantly learn are leadership qualities that would also lend well to the role.
