Blue Valley Park Masterplan | Concept Alternatives

Kansas City Parks and Recreation seek feedback as they walk through the master planning process. This survey is specifically reviewing the two design concept alternatives for Blue Valley Park Masterplan.

Blue Valley Park has a long and storied history within our community. This process is looking to understand what the community envisions for the future of Blue Valley Park.
There are two design concepts for you to review today. Concept A | Social Spaces focuses on community activation throughout the park, taking advantage of the entire property for a variety of user groups. Concept B | Active Recreation minimizes the active footprint of the park while highlighting several active recreation features, capitalizing on the parks unique topography.

Your feedback today will solidify a single plan moving forward for Kansas City Parks and Recreation, whether that is Concept A, Concept B or a combination of their most desired features.

Currently the number one priority is safety throughout the park. It is our desire to increase positive activities in the park for kids and for adults. There are several ways to address the safety by increasing the activities or programmed events in the park where people will come out to use the park. Parks & Recreation staff values your input on how to improve the park.

The Blue Valley Park Master Plan recommends amenities and Parks programming that would put more eyes on the park. In addition, the plan recommends Parks staff partnering with public entities and neighborhoods to create programming in the park. This plan is your ideas of how to improve Blue Valley Park as shown in the design of proposed playground area, walking trails, fishing area, celebration area for high school reunions, picnics, and family reunions. Help us to improve your park for future generations.
