Participant Information

You are being invited to participate in a research study conducted on health-related behaviours and self-perceptions.

Officer Cadet Chelsea-Rose St-Amand of the Royal Military College of Canada is conducting this study and the project is being supervised by Dr. Adelheid Nicol of the Royal Military College of Canada Military Psychology and Leadership Department.

Participation in the study is voluntary. You are allowed to refuse participation or refuse to answer any questions that you do not wish to answer or that make you uncomfortable. You may choose to withdraw from the study at any point with no penalty or loss and your data will not be used. 

The study will be conducted entirely online and will take approximately 15 minutes. There is a slight risk that some of the questions may cause you to feel uncomfortable. You are reminded that if this is the case, you have the option to not answer the question or withdraw from the study.

The study is anonymous and will not be connected back to you in any way, nor will individual responses be shared with anyone not involved in the research process. Guidelines will be taken to protect your privacy. All data will be identified only by a code and will be kept strictly confidential. Because the study is anonymous, your complete honesty in answering the questions will be appreciated.

The results of the Study will be published and presented as an honours undergrad thesis at the Royal Military College of Canada. This information may be used for future research. This study has received ethical approval from the Review Ethics Board of the Royal Military College of Canada.
