Beat The Streets - Application to start a BTS Club Program
Application to Start a Beat The Streets Club Program
The Mission of Beat the Streets is to Develop the Full Human and Athletic Potential of the Urban Youth and to Strengthen the Culture of New York City Wrestling. The purpose of the Beat The Streets NYC Junior League M.S. program is to introduce middle school boys and girls to the sport of wrestling in a fun environment while developing fundamental wrestling skills. It is our goal that students participating in our Junior League M.S. programs will matriculate to one of the PSAL High Schools that sponsor a wrestling team. In terms of adding new PSAL High School wrestling teams, schools that will offer Boys Folkstyle Wrestling in the Winter, as well as Girls Freestyle in the Spring are more likely to achieve PSAL status. If you are interested in starting a Junior League M.S. program, or a High School Club program at your school please complete the below application. Once you have submitted the application send an e-mail to Ken Bigley at Kbigley@beat-the-streets.org letting him know that you have applied to start a program. Newly approved programs are provided with a wrestling mat, shoes, headgear, and uniforms to get the program off the ground.
