The Business of Being an Artist: Work Samples That Wow!

January 21, 2026 | 1:00 - 2:30 PM

Work Samples–examples of your work added to a portfolio, application, or website–are often the best way to show audiences and funders what you do. Join us for an in-depth look at what makes for great work samples and discuss ways to improve how you capture and present your work. Led by Junious Brickhouse (Urban Artistry, Inc.; Next Level) and Jackie Domenus (Mid Atlantic Arts), this webinar will present the current best practices in presenting work samples from the perspectives of working artists who also administer large-scale programs that rely on work samples to select artists.

This webinar will cover a range of art forms, including dance and movement, poetry and prose, visual and sculptural art, music and sound art. The session will close with a question-and-answer period to address your individual questions.

An email with the Zoom link and resources will be shared closer to the event date.
