The SGIM New England Region will host a mentor/mentee match. Mentees will be paired with a mentor in one of many categories below.
- Women's Health
- Primary Care
- Hospital Medicine
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
- Med-Peds
- Med-Ed
- Faculty Development/Promotion
- Research
- Physician wellness
- Enhancing your SGIM experience (how to get involved)
Expectations:
- We will provide your contact information to your Mentor/Mentee before the meeting.
- Mentees will be paired with a mentor and can arrange a time to meet during lunch or around other meetings events (at a poster session, a workshop, plenary, trivia etc). We recommend the lunch hour as nothing else is scheduled during that time.
We ask that mentors be responsible for connecting with the mentees. - Extension of the mentoring relationship beyond the constructs of the meeting is optional but highly encouraged!
- Because we are a GIM organization, our mentors are not always well-equipped to advise mentees on subspecialty career paths or applications to clinical fellowships. However, mentors would be happy to discuss topics pertinent to both generalist and subspecialist careers, such as starting an academic career, work-life integration, etc.
