Originally created by BCEdAccess Society in British Columbia in 2018, the National Exclusion Tracker is now led by the Family Support Institute of BC in partnership with Inclusive Education Canada and provincial and territorial partners. This survey is intended for the use of parents and other primary caregivers of children and youth reporting an exclusion from K–12 education. A separate survey is available for exclusion from child care and out-of-school care.
This survey defines exclusion as instances where a child or youth is not allowed or
able to participate meaningfully, including being sent home, reduced hours, exclusion from activities, placement in segregated settings, suspension, seclusion, restraint, or other situations where a child or youth cannot fully access their education or participate in the school community.
