Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the EDI scholarships, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Be enrolled in full time post-secondary that is specific to the Energy and/or Construction industry, or a trades program in Western Canada and maintain satisfactory academic standing throughout the program;
  • Applicants must meet the verification requirements outlined in the individual scholarships;
  • Have a plan of achieving education and career goals;
  • Committed to updating Strike on academic progress throughout duration of their program; and
  • Must currently live in Western Canada (e.g., British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, or Manitoba).
To be considered, applicants must provide:
  • Application electronically before the category deadline;
  • Proof of enrollment in either post-secondary or trades program;
  • Required documentation for the particular scholarship they are applying to; and
  • Proof of financial aid (if applicable).
Strike reserves the right to award scholarships at the sole discretion of the company, and will base the decision on several factors, including eligibility, reference letters, and information contained within the scholarship application. Strike in no way implies or guarantees that a scholarship will be provided to all applicants, regardless of eligibility.

  • Canadian Immigrant Scholarship - Application Period: January 1 - March 31 at 11:59pm MST
  • Indigenous Scholarship - Application Period: April 1 - June 30 at 11:59pm MST
  • LGBTQ2S+ Scholarship - Application Period: April 1 - June 30 at 11:59pm MST
  • Western Canadian Scholarship - Application Period: July 1 - September 30 at 11:59pm MST
  • Women in Energy Scholarship - Application Period: October 1 - December 31 at 11:59pm MST
