Rochester Stockbridge Unified District School Configuration Survey

The Rochester Stockbridge Unified District (RSUD) is committed to providing the best educational opportunities for our students. Our goal is to do this in a way that is fiscally responsible, community-supported, and true to our district's mission and vision.

Act 170 (H.955), which relates to the transformation of Vermont’s education system, was recently passed by the state legislature and signed into law by Governor Scott. In light of this legislation and our strategic planning, the RSUD Board is studying how to continue to successfully fulfill our mission and vision as a locally controlled and viable community school district.

The following survey is intended to gauge district opinions and guide subsequent, deeper investigations into some of our school configuration options.

1.We continue to work diligently as a district to improve academic and social/emotional (behavioral supports) for our students. With that said, we've heard that there is a desire for even more enhanced systems of support. What suggestions do you have regarding how we can improve both academic and social/emotional supports?

Continue Grades PreK-6 in both schools (currently configured with multi-grade classrooms).
Continue with two schools PreK-Grade 5. Grade 6 would become a School Choice grade. Currently, RSUD offers School Choice for Grades 7-12.
Two schools, single grades with Pre K though 2nd (as example) on one campus and 3rd through 5/6th on the other campus.
