PathSupport, through the use of electronics Clinical Decision Support (eCDS) tools for clinicians, has the potential to assist workflow, guide electronic requesting (eReferrals), increase efficiencies with the Medicare Benefits Schedule, and enhance the delivery of pathology services. The RCPA is undertaking a Project, expanding on prior work, on the use, benefits and barriers to e-Requesting of pathology including electronic Clinical Decision Support. This Survey is part of the PathSupport eCDS Project.

The Survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete

The Survey seeks responses to the use of e-Requesting of Pathology and the related use of electronic Clinical Decision Support.

For the purposes of this survey,

Active eCDS is defined as "software that supports clinical practice, is available within the Practice Management Software, does not decrease clinical efficiency and does not impact clinical autonomy."
Passive CDS: We recognise that there are "a range of other decision support tools available, that sit outside the Practice Management Software", which we define as Passive CDS. These tools include My Health Record, the RCPA Manual, the Red Book, as well as other sources including published guidelines.

If you need assistance or guidance from the RCPA, please contact David Willock davidw@rcpa.edu.au

Please submit your survey responses by Friday 10 November 2023.
