Led by the Prince George’s County Planning Department, the Beltsville Placemaking Pilot project looks to develop recommendations from the Route 1 (Rte. 1) Development Plan into long-term placemaking and infrastructure in Beltsville.
Through community capacity building and a community-centered design, we will develop a short-term pilot project to create a greater sense of place and calm traffic on Rhode Island Avenue (from Rte. 1 to Sellman, in front of the Bank of America). The goal is to hold a “Community Paint Day” where Beltsville residents will join M-NCPPC staff to implement the temporary street mural.
This survey is designed to gather feedback on the style of street art/mural for the Beltsville Placemaking Pilot Project.
NOTE: These mural designs are preliminary and intended to help inspire ideas. If you have additional suggestions — such as themes, subjects, or concepts you’d like to see reflected in the street art/mural, please include them in the survey. Feel free to share examples of photos, links, etc.
