INTRODUCTION

The BOSTnet (Build the Out-of-School Time Network) Family Engagement Assessment helps OST programs explore how effectively they communicate with family members, help families become more involved and engaged in program activities, and support their development as parent leaders.

Please self assess how frequently the Level 2 (Intermediate) family involvement and engagement strategies are used by staff - Rarely, Sometimes, or Consistently. That is, the extent to which families engagement is a core principle in the overall program development. You may then identify priority strategies for improvement.

Based on the results, Kalamazoo Youth Development Network Out-of-School time (OST) Program Development Coaches will help you develop a Family Engagement plan that will guide you in taking the steps toward engaging families in your program.
