2026 NWSA Book Awards Reviewer Interest Form

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the National Women's Studies Association (NWSA)! We are seeking volunteers to assist with reviewing submissions for our NWSA 2026 Book Award Cycle.

We aim to engage a robust review process that draws on the interdisciplinary expertise across our field. Volunteers are tasked with providing dynamic and generative feedback for award submissions (published books, manuscripts, etc.), and work with fellow committee members to select a winner for that award. Therefore, we ask that active NWSA members who hold tenured positions or have worked in the field of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality studies with a minimum of 7 years of expertise volunteer their service.

Review Committee Objectives:
  • Review select submissions for 2026 Book Awards;
  • Provide thoughtful and generative feedback to applicants who are not selected for the award;
  • Co-coordinate Accept/Reject communications for award applicants;
  • Celebrate (if possible) Award Recipients at the 2026 Awards Ceremony!

The NWSA recognizes that such service entails dedicated time each month between May - August 2026. Each committee will work with the National Office and members of our Governing Council in the coordination of deadlines and committee meetings.
