Bariatric surgery - vitamins, minerals & nutritional monitoring

Bariatric surgery is recognised as the best treatment to aid weight loss and reduce medical comorbidities. It has a significant impact on dietary intake and some procedures impact on the absorption of macronutrients and/or micronutrients. There are currently no UK national guidelines on the nutritional supplements or nutritional monitoring required. Please take a few minutes to fill out this survey on your current practice. The collated results will be used to influence a position statement on nutritional monitoring both in preparation for surgery and the aftercare. Mary O’Kane, on behalf of BOMSS welcomes your feedback and your answers will be kept confidential. Thank you for your participation.
