Derwood Farmers' Market

The Missions team is researching the viability of opening a seasonal community farmers' market from spring through fall, starting in 2018 at Derwood Alliance Church.  The market would be held weekly on Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm or 10 am to 2 pm, in the lower parking lot of the church.

The market would provide a community space for fresh locally grown and prepared foods, local entertainment, cooking demonstrations, a children’s activity tent, and picnic tables where you can eat, relax, and connect with friends and neighbors. The market will accept and give matching dollars for Food Stamps, WIC, and Senior Nutrition vouchers to serve under-resourced families in our community. Most importantly, it would provide a way for the church to serve and connect with our neighbors.

The Missions team has been interviewing an organization, Milk Lady Markets, that runs the operations of a farmers' market.  We are looking for input to learn which products and services interest our church community.  Please share with us your preferences by filling in this 1 minute survey.
