TOWN OF MIDDLEBURY COMMUNITY WIDE SURVEY
Release date: Monday, February 9, 2026
Completed surveys requested by: Friday, February 20, 2026
This is your chance to help shape Middlebury’s future!
The Town of Middlebury Planning Commission is working to update the Town Plan. All residents, students, employees, visitors, and business owners are encouraged to take this survey. Your participation and input will be used to help inform the vision and priorities of our next Town Plan. It is important to hear from as many people as possible so the next Town Plan can be as representative of Middlebury as possible.
Per Vermont State Law, the process of updating our Town Plan is supposed to be completed every 8 years. The Town Plan will outline existing conditions, highlight the community’s vision for the next 8 years, outline goals to carry the vision forward, and an implementation plan to achieve the goals. The Town Plan will provide general direction for land use (zoning) regulations and serve as a roadmap for the Select Board to address important community priorities. The results of this community survey will be tabulated and documented for use in preparing the Town Plan.
The survey will be kept open for a minimum of 2 weeks from the release date. Links to the survey are presented through Survey Monkey, though Paper surveys will also be available at the Middlebury Libraries, the Recreation Center, and Town Offices. If you complete the survey in paper form, please return to the location you acquired it. Responses will be collected and input on a weekly basis. Please limit submission of completed surveys to one per person. If you have any issues taking the survey you may send an email to ebartlett@townofmiddlebury.org or call (802) 388-8100, ext. 210
Please take the time to read each question and answer it as thoughtfully as possible. Your responses will be anonymous, and the survey should take less than 10 minutes to complete all 22 questions.
Your time and input are greatly appreciated!
