Background

As part of developments within the Women's and Children's Hospital (WCH), Boylan Ward, CAMHS Inpatient ward at the Hospital is moving and being updated.  Expected to completed by early 2021, the new Boylan Ward will include an outside area, a 4 bed Low Stimulus High Dependency Unit as well as individual rooms for each young person/patient and extra 'clinical' rooms to support contact between young people and needed services..

This anticipated change has provided a great opportunity to  reflect on research and evaluations; results of continuing consumer, carer and key partner contributions; the political, environmental, social climates and other elements at play in the Mental Health context in defining Boylan’s model of care ‘as is’ and ‘could be’ into the future.

CAMHS Executive would like to take the opportunity to thank the Project Team who was crucial in the development of this important piece of work.

Your feedback for this MoC will help ensure that Boylan Ward Inpatient Services is a dynamic, world class leader now and into the future.
