Question Title

* 1. Our church is blessed with 100 acres of land. Sixty are usable and 40 acres are part of a wetland. As we prayerfully consider how to steward this gift for future generations, we want your input on what elements might be included in our long-term plan. So far we have developed about 12 acres of pollinator fields and native prairie that we hope to preserve. We want to be able to both sustain our land and use it for recreation, spiritual practices and environmental education opportunities.

Pope Francis wrote an encyclical (letter) in 2016 called “ Laudato Si” which means “Praised be.” In it he spoke of the great gift that creation is, our responsibility to cherish that gift and ways in which we have not respected our “Common Home” which is Mother Earth. From Laudato Si, “ All of us can cooperate as instruments of God for the care of creation, each according to his or her own culture, experience, involvements and talents.”

We welcome your participation as we prayerfully consider the various ways to honor the land that we’ve been given.
