Budget 2025 Survey for Medicine Hat-Cardston-Warner (Personal and Business)

Ottawa needs to hear from you! When the Liberals table their 2025 Budget on November 4, 218 days of this fiscal year will have passed without Canadians knowing how their tax dollars are being spent.

During committee testimony, the Parliamentary Budget Officer confirmed that Prime Minister Mark Carney has no definition of his “operating” and “capital” budgets—and even if he splits them into two, the bottom line of Canada’s record-high debt won’t change.

According to the Parliamentary Budget Officer, Canada’s deficit is set to grow sharply — from $51.7 billion (1.7% of GDP) in 2024-25 to $68.5 billion (2.2% of GDP) in 2025-26. At the same time, federal debt has reached $1.281 trillion and continues to climb. Even worse, interest on that debt (public debt servicing charges) cost taxpayers $53.6 billion for 2024-25. That cost will rise to $55.3 billion in 2025-26.

Decisions made by the Liberals over the past decade have driven up inflation, doubled housing costs, increased grocery bills by over $800 a year, and left Canadians with record federal debt. These choices are hurting hard-working families, seniors, farmers, energy workers, and small businesses.

These surveys will allow me to bring your voice directly to Ottawa, but I need your input to do it.

Thank you for taking part.
