Please consider presenting your effective practices at our program sharing conference. Proposals are due by March 29, 2019.

The DPI and the Wisconsin Safe & Healthy Schools Center are inviting Wisconsin school districts, colleges, community-based organizations, and other partners to submit proposals to present at the Building the Heart of the Successful Schools Conference at the Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells on December 5-6, 2019.

Topics typically addressed at the conference are:  Preventing ATOD (Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs), Mental Health, Creating a Positive School Climate, Health, School Safety and Violence Prevention, Trauma Sensitive Schools, Social Emotional Learning, etc.
Overview of Sectional Requirements:
• Conference sectionals are 75 minutes in length.
• Presentation methods should be interactive. Consider using one or more of the following techniques: group exercises, demonstration, discussion, or case study.
• Presentations that represent a diversity of methods, materials, and audience are encouraged.
• Proposals will be reviewed by the conference planning committee.
• Presenters will be notified of proposal acceptance by May 10, 2019.
• The fee for up to two presenters will be waived for a single presentation. Presenters are responsible for travel and lodging expenses.

All rooms will have a laptop, speakers, flip chart, markers, internet access, and LCD projector. Presenters are encouraged to bring presentation on jump drive. Presenters are requested to share presentations and handouts for electronic distribution a week prior to the conference.
