National Crime Victims' Rights Week (NCVRW)

Each April in honor of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week an Awards Ceremony hosted by the Vermont Center for Crime Victim Services recognizes individuals who have made a noticeable difference for victims/survivors of crime and/or the victim services field. We invite you to nominate an individual who has made such a contribution.

Please select from one of the award categories below, then complete and submit this form. Feel free to take as much space as you need to present a complete picture of the contributions of the nominee. Letters of support from colleagues or those whom the person has assisted are also welcome and will provide positive support to the nomination.

The 2026 NCVRW Awards Ceremony will be held on Friday, April 24th, 2026 at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Montpelier, VT.

Your nomination form MUST be received no later than Friday, March 27th.

Award Categories:

1. Survivor / Activist: For a victim of crime who has taken their own personal experience and transformed it into action or advocacy on behalf of other victims of crime.

2. Outstanding Advocacy: For an advocate who has shown excellence in skill and compassion within their role and has made a difference for a victim/survivor.

3. Ally Award: For a volunteer, professional or program who, outside of the course of performing their regular duties, has advocated for a victim-centered policies and/or implemented practices that have created significant changes for victims and crime/violence prevention. This can include activities that enhance offender accountability, community response to violence, and/or community outreach and education.

4. Career Achievement: This award is presented to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to victim services over their career or lifetime and have changed the culture and practice of Vermont to be safer and more responsive to victims of crime.

5. Justice for All Award: Given to recognize a professional whose work has demonstrated outstanding outreach to ensure service and support to all victims of crime.

This ceremony includes the nominator saying a few words about the recipient, and the recipient accepting the award with a few words of their own (if they wish to.)
