We want to hear from you! This quick, 5-minute survey will help shape local programs and funding to protect our community from climate change impacts like extreme heat, flooding, and wildfire. Your responses are anonymous.
CARP focuses on understanding and preparing for climate risks within the Santa Ana Watershed — an area that spans from the mountains in San Bernardino, all the way to the coast in Orange County.
Here's the climate topics we'll explore:
Trend: A long-term pattern in climate conditions - for example, increasing temperatures.
Hazard: A natural event made worse by climate trends that could potentially harm something - for example, extreme heat waves.
Exposure: How much something is located in an area affected by a climate hazard - for example, how often and for how long extreme heat waves occur in your area.
Vulnerability: How sensitive something is to harm from a climate hazard - for example, a water supply's sensitivity to increased demand from power usage during extreme heat waves.
Risk: The amount that a climate hazard will damage something, based on its exposure and vulnerability to the hazard - for example, the impact on a sensitive water supply from an increase in heat wave frequency or duration in your area.
The Santa Ana River Watershed Climate Adaptation and Resilience Plan is supported by the Regional Resilience Grant Program implemented by the Governor’s Office of Land Use and Climate Innovation.
