Purpose of the survey
Georgian College, on behalf of the municipalities of Bruce and Grey Counties, is hosting this survey as part of the development of the next 5-year Community Safety and Well-Being Plan. The survey, which is meant to be completed by residents of Bruce and Grey Counties, will help us understand the current state of well-being and feelings of safety of people in the community. This data will allow us to continue to work together and focus on local action to improve the quality of life for everyone.

What Information will I be asked to share
We will ask you about your day-to-day life, health, education, employment, and safety experiences. By sharing your experiences and what matters to you, you can help shape life in our community, determine priorities, and indicate where you believe change is needed.

Participation in the survey
The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. Your participation in this survey is voluntary and you can refuse to participate or withdraw at any time. Once you have submitted the survey, you will not be able to withdraw your responses, since they are not linked to individual respondents. Your decision to participate or not participate will not have an impact on any service you are currently receiving from the county, social services, health services or a community organization. We will not request your name at any time. Your responses are completely anonymous. We will not ask you for your name or any personally identifiable information. Data will be stored securely and in accordance with GDPR requirements within Georgian’s network and will be accessible only to Georgian researchers. The results of the survey will be shared with the public and community partners through the updated Community Safety and Well-Being Plan in 2026.

This survey will be open from January 19 to April 19, 2026.

What happens to the information I provide
All data collected for this project will be stored securely and handled in line with GDPR requirements. Access will be limited to the project team, and information will be kept only for as long as needed for analysis. Once the project is complete, all data will be securely deleted. Any reporting will use aggregated results only, so no individual responses can be identified.

Optional Prize Draw
As a thank you for participating, you may choose to enter a draw for one of twenty 50 dollar gift cards to local businesses. Entry is completely optional. At the end of the survey, you will be directed to a separate form where you can provide your contact information for the draw. This information will not be linked to your survey responses, so your anonymity is fully maintained. Winners will be contacted after the survey closes. For full contest rules, click here.
