2.Tell us about your experiences and ideas for health and safety in child care!

The state of Delaware is preparing for a major update to child care regulations in 2026.

This effort is NOT about the de-regulation of child care! We want the child care regulations to be clear and practical, while maintaining Delaware’s strong commitment to child health and safety. This might include, for instance, bringing together topics that currently appear on many different pages of the Delacare regulations documents; it might also include offering some new ideas about monitoring and the processes for supporting compliance!

This survey is hosted by Delaware Association for the Education of Young Children (deaeyc). We are working in partnership with Office of Child Care Licensing at Delaware Department of Education. We are inviting feedback in advance of OCCL’s regulatory revision process to make sure any changes reflect the real experiences of providers, families, and communities.
Who should participate in this survey?

  • Licensed family child care and large family child care providers in Delaware – owners, and people in every paid role educating, caregiving, and assisting
  • Licensed child care centers in Delaware – owners, directors, and people in every paid role educating, caregiving, and assisting
  • Participants do NOT have to be current deaeyc members

All of your responses will be anonymous. If you have any questions, please email admin@deaeyc.org
