Dear Colleague:
The American Society of Transplant Surgeons, through its education and certifying activities, provides a framework of learning for the training and development of a competent transplant surgery workforce.
To that end, the Fellowship Training Committee (FTC) and Transplant Accreditation & Certification Council (TACC) are interested in your thoughts on practice-readiness and phase-in of new transplant surgery fellow graduates. An effective and smooth transition is important for patient safety, success and retention of the new surgeon, and stability for mature practices. Furthermore, it is the expectation from the public that an ASTS Certification ensures a level of competency for safe clinical practice.
Your responses are appreciated. We value your candor and thoughts on how best to build the workforce of the future. The survey is designed for adult procedures and does not explore competencies in the pediatric setting. In addition, the questionnaire is ANONYMOUS and all data will be aggregated without any identifiers; please avoid including any personal reference in your comments section.
