Recycling Glass in the City of Knoxville

The City of Knoxville appreciates your input on the change related to glass in the single-stream curb-side recycling program. Unfortunately, there is not a market for mixed-color glass and the City will not be able to accept glass as a part of that program starting January 1, 2017.
1.Are you currently recycling glass through the City of Knoxville’s single-stream curb-side recycling program?
2.Starting January 2, 2017, will you be willing to take glass to a drop-off recycling center and separate by color?
3.The city has five drop-off recycling centers. Which of these locations is convenient for you to use on a regular basis?
4.How frequently do you think you would visit one of these five existing drop-off recycling centers?
5.Do you have a suggestion for a location or part of town that would be a more convenient location?
6.Would the drop-off recycling center location you suggested increase your number of visits per month?
7.If this location was implemented, how frequently would you visit the recycling center?
Thank you for submitting your input. We will be doing additional research in the first quarter of 2017 on this topic and other ways to streamline and reduce waste in our city. If you would like to be on the list to provide more in-depth input at that time, please provide your email. Your email will be used only to contact you regarding additional input on this topic.
