RULES FOR PITCH HOLDERS

Note; It is now a legal requirement that we must all show a duty of care towards the safety and well being of others. ‘Rawdon Parish Council Gala now operates under a licence issued by Leeds City Council and by booking a pitch you are agreeing to abide by the terms and any conditions of the licence. The following rules seek to address the terms of the licence.

You MUST read and understand these rules, by booking a pitch you are agreeing to abide by them. All of those who attend the Gala, as your representatives, must know and understand these rules.
1. Sales
· Alcohol may not be served or sold. The Gala will not have an alcohol licence.
· Bottles (or other manufactured containers) of alcohol may be given as prizes in raffles and tombola’s provided the following conditions are met;
o after expenses are deducted, none of the money raised by the ‘entertainment’ is used for private gain
o the alcohol is in a sealed container, such as an unopened bottle
o the prizes are not given to anyone under 18 years (you must obtain proof of age if you are unsure)
o tickets are only sold during the Gala, not in advance.
· Live animals (including fish) may not be sold or used as prizes (including raffles and tombola’s).
· Items of ‘an adult nature’ may not be sold or used as prizes (including raffles and tombola’s).
· Knives and other weapons (real or replica) may not be sold or used as prizes (including raffles and tombola’s).
· Tattooing or body piercing is not permitted on site
· All food operations must comply with Food Hygiene and Health and Safety at Work Regulations
· All food that is heated and/or cooked on site must be done in a professionally prepared concession unit. No cooking or heating equipment will be allowed within a standard pitch.
· Fireworks and pyrotechnics may not be sold, stored or used on site, or used as prizes.
2. Generators Structures and Equipment
· All generators on the site must be diesel or LPG driven. Petrol generators are not permitted
· All blowers on site must be diesel, LPG or electric. Petrol blowers are not permitted
· Any small-scale plant, generators, blowers etc. must be physically isolated from public access. You must provide your own barriers or fencing
· All temporary structures shall be suitable and fit for their intended purpose and installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
· No cooking facilities may be used except in specifically adapted concession units.
3. Vehicles.
· There must be no movement of ANY road vehicles on the park between 1145 and 1730 (11.45am and 5.30pm).
· Any person in charge of a vehicle shall be suitably qualified/trained
· You may not keep your vehicle next to your stall. Concessions for disabled drivers must be requested prior to the event.
· There is no parking on site, and once set up is complete you must remove your vehicle to available on street parking. Any vehicles left on site after this time may be removed by the organisers in the interest of public safety.
4. Health & Safety; General
· Gaps will be deliberately left between the stalls and in other areas as firebreaks and evacuation routes. Do not block or try to use these empty areas. Stalls must only be erected where directed.
· All concession units must remain stationary whilst the public are on the site and shall remain stationary until 1730.
