8.Broomfield Football Club (BFC) Scholarship Policy
Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to provide opportunities for players whose families need financial assistance with BFC registration fees, uniforms, or both. BFC is committed to supporting families while also maintaining accountability and fairness within the program.

Participation Requirements
Attendance Commitment
Parents/guardians must commit that the athlete will attend a minimum of 80% of all scheduled practices and games.

Failure to meet this requirement will result in:
• Revocation of the scholarship
• The athlete becoming ineligible to practice or participate in games

Volunteer Requirement
Families receiving scholarship assistance are required to volunteer as follows:
• 20 volunteer hours if receiving assistance for both registration fees and uniforms
• 10 volunteer hours if receiving assistance for either registration fees or uniforms

Volunteer opportunities may include (but are not limited to):
• Uniform fittings
• Weigh-ins
• Field monitoring
• Field set-up
• Field breakdown
• Playoff game support (if required)
• Other BFC events requiring volunteer assistance

Additional Volunteer Guidelines:
• Volunteering at one field set-up and one field breakdown is mandatory.
• Families may be required to work one playoff game, if applicable.
• Volunteer hours may not be completed with your own athlete’s team.
• A BFC Board member will communicate available volunteer opportunities.

If the required volunteer hours are not completed, or if your athlete quits before the hours are fulfilled:

• The family will be responsible for the full cost of the uniforms.
• Depending on the timing of the withdrawal, the family may also be responsible for up to 50% of the registration fees.

Account Standing
The athlete’s family account with BFC must be in good standing and have no past-due balances.

Required Documentation
The following must be submitted with the scholarship application:
• A written statement of financial hardship from the athlete’s parent/guardian
• A written recommendation from a school representative, social worker, community center youth worker, or other social services professional (not required, but helpful)

• If applicable, proof of participation in government assistance programs such as:
• SNAP (Food Stamps)
• Medicaid
• SSI
• Foster Care
• WIC
• Free or Reduced School Lunch
• Other applicable assistance programs
Please provide copies of proof of enrollment or acceptance in all applicable programs.

Application Process
• Applications must be submitted no later than June 30,2026.

Award Determination
Approval or denial of all scholarship applications, as well as the amount awarded, is at the sole discretion of the BFC Board of Directors.
If a partial scholarship is awarded and a payment plan is established:
• The family must adhere to the approved payment schedule and payment amounts.
• Failure to make payments on time and in the agreed-upon amounts will result in:
• Revocation of the scholarship
• The athlete becoming ineligible to practice or participate in games

By signing below, parents/guardians acknowledge and agree to all terms outlined in this policy.
9.Submit a statement of financial hardship written by athlete or parent/guardian. This will need to be uploaded to the application in order to be considered.
10.If approved, I agree to complete requested volunteer hours in exchange for financial assistance.(Required.)
