The Cairns Business Excellence Awards (BEX) is one of our region's most prestigious and celebrated annual business events. The awards recognise both organisations and individuals (either members or non-members) that have achieved outstanding results in their industry, field of expertise and/or contribution to our Far North Queensland community.
In 2021, there are 10 categories:
Legacy Award (Sponsored by James Cook University)
This award recognises an individual for their outstanding contribution to the Cairns business community.
Emerging Leadership Award
This award acknowledges an individual, aged 18-35, who has demonstrated strong professional development and has made a contribution to the Cairns business community as an emerging leader.
People Management Excellence Award (Sponsored by CBC Staff Selection)
This award recognises a business/organisation that has a demonstrated track record of business management excellence. The winning business will have shaped outstanding growth and development through effective people management.
Customer Service Excellence Award
This award acknowledges a business/organisation that has a demonstrated track record of customer service excellence. The winner will have effectively shaped their success by delivering outstanding growth and development through a focus on excellent customer service.
Marketing and Communications Excellence Award
This award acknowledges a business/organisation that has a demonstrated excellence in marketing and communications. The winner will have a well-targeted and engaging approach to marketing that has considerably contributed to their success.
Indigenous Business Excellence Award
This award recognises the success of an Indigenous (ATSI) majority owned and/or operated business/organisation for exceptional business achievement and outstanding practices.
Community Contribution Excellence Award
This award highlights and rewards the important of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in a business/organisation. CSR needs to be incorporated into business strategy, extending beyond the financial bottom line, and integrating social, ethical, environmental and philanthropical values into core decision-making processes and company culture.
Sustainability/Environment Excellence Award
This award recognises a business/organisation that is working to reduce the impact of its operations on the environment and/or provides products and services that have positive environmental outcomes.
Business Technology Excellence Award
This award recognises a business that uses innovative technologies to drive better efficiency and productivity as well as the outcomes and performance of the organisation.
Innovation Award (Sponsored by Cairns Regional Council)
This award recognises a business that uses innovation to drive better efficiency and productivity as well as the outcomes and performance of the organisation.
