Welcome to the 2015 BC Energy Code Compliance Survey.

This survey will be used to estimate the energy code compliance of buildings across British Columbia.

Specifically, the survey focuses on the energy efficiency requirements under the BC Building Code and Vancouver Building Bylaw (VBBL) with reference to the following energy standards:
- ASHRAE 90.1 - 2010 Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings
- National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings (NECB) - 2011
- Section 9.36 of the BC Building Code, as it relates to small, non-residential buildings (referencing NECB)

Your anonymous feedback will be used to improve energy code compliance. The survey results will inform the decisions made by utilities, professional associations, and governments regarding energy code compliance management.

All responses will be collected anonymously. However, there is an optional link at the end of the survey if you are interested in providing your contact information for participation in follow-up workshops. There is also an optional link for you to anonymously indicate the specific buildings you have worked on since December 2013. (The purpose of this question is to better characterize the reach of the survey at the building level, in addition to the practitioner level). These questions will not be linked to the main survey in order to maintain the anonymity of responses to the main survey.

On May 13, 2015 some of the questions were revised to clarify the scope of the survey as including both the Vancouver Building Bylaw and the BC Building Code. If you are completing this survey for the 2nd time as a result of that scope clarification, please add a comment on the 2nd page that you are doing this survey a second time.

Thank you for your participation.
