Birmingham City Schools has partnered this summer with Alabama Regional Medical Services to make COVID-19 Vaccinations available at our local schools. While several have received the vaccinations -- the vast majority of students have not.

Public health officials say Alabamians are at heightened risk for COVID-19 this fall because of the low rates of vaccinations and the rapid spread of new variants. Currently, Jefferson County is among the top 21 counties in Alabama at risk for COVID-19 spread, according to public health officials.

We want to be prepared in Birmingham City Schools so that ALL students can enjoy a safe return to learning, sports and extracurricular activities. We would like to avoid a complete return to virtual learning, and the cancellation of sports competitions and extracurricular activities in the upcoming school year.

Complete a survey for each Birmingham City Schools student age 12 or above in your household. Please complete the survey by 5 p.m. on Friday, July 16, 2021 to help guide school leaders preparing for the next school year, which begins with in-person learning on August 2.
