OADN's 40th Anniversary Convention: Bridging the Past to Build the Future

50-Minute Podium Presentations (Including Q&A)
OADN invites nurse educators, administrators, simulationists, researchers, interprofessional colleagues, and students to submit abstracts for the 2024 OADN Annual Convention, planned for October 31 – November 2, 2024, at the Marriott Water Street in Tampa, Florida. The call is for concurrent sessions (50-minute podium presentations, including Q&A) and posters.

OADN's 40th Anniversary Convention theme, Bridging the Past to Build the Future, recognizes the historic role of the associate degree pathway on our nation’s healthcare workforce and patients in every community. As we look to the future, we invite you to reflect on how you navigated past challenges, seized on opportunities, and were able to deliver success stories for your program faculty, students, and the community you serve. Please share any innovative techniques, new knowledge, meaningful collaborations, and best practices to help ensure we continue delivering excellence in nursing education and support the future generation of registered nurses over the next 40 years and beyond.

General Information on the Submission Process
  1. Abstracts that present well-designed demonstrations or evidence-based pilot projects that include data are preferred.
  2. A maximum of four (4) presenters will be considered with your abstract submission. The primary presenter will be the main point of contact for all communication with OADN and is responsible for ensuring that co-presenters complete necessary action steps in preparation for the convention.
  3. OADN requires all presenters to identify any existing or potential conflicts of interest related to the content to be offered (e.g., commercial interest, affiliation with a vendor, and/or receipt of royalties) and affirm that their abstract presentations will not be used to sell a particular product or service.
  4. All presenters must register and pay as attendees for the OADN Convention. Presenters are responsible for their own expenses, including the above-referenced registration fee, travel, accommodations, and other expenses.
Please note: OADN encourages all those submitting a podium abstract to submit it as a poster abstract, as well. Podium abstracts that are not accepted for presentation *will not* automatically be considered for poster presentation. Please submit your abstract through the podium and poster links to be considered for both options.

Abstract submissions must include:

o Session Title

o Brief Description (max. 100 words)

o Background/Introduction (max. 150 words)

o Intervention/Description and/or Research Methods (max. 200 words)

o Findings/Results (max. 200 words)

o Conclusions (max. 200 words)

o Learning Objectives (3-5)

You are strongly encouraged to gather all required materials, as outlined above, BEFORE completing the online abstract submission form. Having all components proofread, finalized, and ready for file upload will help to ensure successful submission.
