Barrio Logan Maintenance Assessment District Survey
The Barrio Logan Maintenance Assessment District (District) is now in its 4th year of providing enhanced improvements and services. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey that starts on the following page, which is being conducted as part of the District evaluation process. These results will be evaluated to make adjustments and improvements to District services. Property owner and resident feedback is essential to developing the most responsive program and we value your feedback. Survey results will be posted on the District’s website.
The improvements and services provided by the District are generally described as follows:
Sidewalk Operations Improvements and Services
- Maintaining of the public rights-of-way through sidewalk and gutter sweeping;
- Sidewalk steam cleaning;
- Tree and vegetation planting, watering, and trimming;
- Graffiti clean-up within 24 hours as necessary;
- Enhanced trash emptying;
- Dealing with homeless and vagrancy issues; and
- Special events maintenance and security.
District Identity Improvements and Services
- Landmark, & Gateway sign development and maintenance;
- Public safety programs and security;
- Community enhancement and economic development Programs including special events and holiday decorations; &
- Branding of Barrio Logan through signage, logo, brochures, advertising & public relations programs.

SUMMARY OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS OVER THE PAST FOUR YEARS:
Sidewalk Operations Improvements and Services
- 6589 bags (or 1296 cubic yards) of litter removed
- 1028 bulky items collected and disposed of
- 77,493 square feet of graffiti removed
- 468 trees trimmed
- 651 square blocks of sidewalk maintenance (weed & litter removal, street sweeping)
- 2,079,506 square feet of pressure washing

- Commercial Avenue Landscaping Project: Design and installation of 788-square foot xeriscape on Commercial St and S. 17th

- Cesar Chavez Pkwy Gateway to Neighborhood garden improvement 4,903 sq. ft.
- Main Street & Sicard 1,399 sq. ft. of landscaping improvements
- Barrio Logan Landscape Design Plan – 10 landscape design renderings & budgets
- Tree Planting Plan (Urban Corps also planted a minimum of 10 street trees in the district with other funding sources)

- Conducted Barrio Logan Logo Competition
- Assisted in Barrio Logan Community Signage Competition and Coordination of Sign Installation
- Installation of 23 trash receptacles throughout district
- Produced & Distributed Flyer with Prevention Tips Dealing with Homeless in Barrio Logan
- Multiple Mass Mailings to District Property Owners on Relevant Issues including District Services & BLA Election
