Thank you for your interest in applying for a scholarship through AFP! We are able to award these scholarships thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, members, and donors.
The fundraising and philanthropic space in Austin has historically marginalized and left out the voices of fundraisers of color and communities of color. It is our goal to proactively work to dismantle historic racism that has existed within our AFP chapter and in this field. With this and with the goals of inclusion, diversity, equity, and access in mind, the AFP Greater Austin Chapter will award scholarships each year to professionals in the philanthropic sector who identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color).
Application Opens 10/8/25, Closes 11/8/25, Notifications sent 11/15/25

Your application will be reviewed by a panel of your peers.

All member scholarship awards include AFP Global and Chapter membership dues and free admission to all AFP-GAC education programs (Chapter Meetings and One Day Conference) for one year.

By submitting this application, you affirm that if a scholarship is awarded, you will 1) participate as an active and engaged AFP member, and 2) serve on an AFP committee (if you are not already an active volunteer) for at least the 12 months after your scholarship is awarded.

Should you have questions as you work through the application, please reach out to AFP Board Member, Claire Mathias (Director of Volunteer Engagement & Scholarships) at scholarships@afpaustin.org.

Good luck!
