In 2017, Aurora Sister Cities International will launch its first ever educational program designed to engage diverse Aurora youth aged 13-15 and teach them a set of global competencies which can help them toward leadership opportunities and career paths in the increasingly global marketplace. The program will take place for one full week during the summer at the conclusion of the regular APS or Cherry Creek school calendar. Students participating in the program will then be offered the opportunity to apply for a scholarship to attend the nationally-renowned Sister Cities International youth leadership program which takes place in July of every year. In future years, as the program develops, Aurora Sister Cities International will recruit “Global Youth Ambassadors” from the program to travel abroad to our sister and friendship cities.

Through this survey, we seek input from students, parents, educators, consultants and administrators to help us provide the very best program and inclusivity for Aurora youth. We believe that the most unique aspect of our youth program is our desire to use it as a pipeline to provide global travel and exposure to young people who may not normally have such opportunities (due to financial or other constraints). Please help us achieve our goal of helping our Aurora students to achieve success as they move forward with their education and eventual participation in the global marketplace.
